About Me

My photo
Heather Douglas
Toronto, Canada
My good friend introduced me to yoga two decades ago. Yoga then became a staple in my life as I ebbed and flowed through different styles, teachers and practices over the years. It offers me a way to breath, move mindfully and with awareness, within life's challenges, joys, and during mundane times too. I enjoy sharing these tools one-on-one and in small community classes with those looking for a safe, gentle, and comfortable space to explore yoga's benefits. I welcome folks of all identities, sizes, abilities, and ages. Together we can create a practice just for you, or learn to move uniquely within a group. Laughter, tears, and toots are par for the course.

Testimonials

“Heather is intuitive, caring and sensitive to my body's specific needs. Fabulous!” Jamie

“I've been taking yoga classes from Heather at every opportunity for the last four or five year now, and there aren't even words to describe what a wonderful experience it's been. Heather has a beautiful, generous, and caring energy and really attends to the students in her classes. She creates an inclusive and friendly environment that really inspires a thoughtful, loving, and warm yoga practice. My only warning is that once you attend one of Heather's classes, you may be left with a lingering feeling that you want to attend more.” Shannon

“Heather creates a comfy and welcoming space and is attentive to each person, making sure we each get the kind of yoga practice that feels right for us. She brings a lot of knowledge about the tradition of yoga and also injects her own unique spirit and passion into her classes, making them incomparable. I leave every class feeling golden.” Anila

“Heather's Restorative Yoga class is a calm, lovely respite from the stresses of the urban experience. She is gentle and carefully modifies all poses to accommodate comfort, ability and injuries. I love the long stretches. It's the perfect recharge for me. One of the sweetest elements is the final 10 minutes when Heather has us all tucked in with blankets and lovely scented eye pillows. I feel swaddled in a very genuine care.” Nathalie-Roze

"Heather is my absolute favorite yoga teacher in Toronto, no question. She is grounded, connected, approachable and fun. I always leave feeling like I’m glowing from the inside out." Chris

“I would recommend Heather’s class to anyone from beginners to yoga teachers. Her style is mindful and restorative, working with tunes that seem to blend with the space and your breath. All folks welcome.” Sara

“The practice is mine to determine and discover through Heather’s guidance. There is an inspirational quality to her classes; during the heart chakra class my mind and body lead me to discover and plan a beautiful art project. This is more than a yoga class, it is a journey to creative possibilities and places.” Mary Beth

“I feel fortunate to have found the right class and the right teacher for me.” Annette

“I love this class! Heather has created a warm, open and fun environment, in which those participating feel nurtured and supported in the development of their own individual yoga practice.” Jenna

“I've been attending Heather's classes for a few years now and always find them healing and grounding. I really appreciate the ways Heather makes the classes she teaches accessible and fun - such as offering options for different poses based on your abilities or how your body is feeling on that particular day, and encouraging you to be in touch with what it is you need in any given moment. Heather never misses an opportunity to show that she is grateful for her students' participation and committed to helping them access the health benefits available from practicing yoga. (and she sometimes even gives out awesome little zines to boot!!)” K
